ENGLISH, Barney

Barney English of RR 2, Covington, age 52, was found dead Wednesday morning, December 9, in the garage at his home. Death was ruled due to carbon monoxide poisoning. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, November 6, 1929, the son of Walter Baird and Clara Louck English.

  English was a member of Covington Lions Club, Conservation Club and Boat Club. He had served as a special sheriff’s deputy in Vermilion County, Illinois, and worked for many years with L. D. McKinzie Distributing Company in Danville, Illinois. The past three years he worked at Blax Printing Company in Danville and was former owner of Illiana CB Sales.

  Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Kay Wickens of rural Dana, Sue English of Covington and Elizabeth Anne English of Indianapolis; a son, Erick Lynn of Danville; a brother, Blynn of Danville; a half sister, Doreen Ragle of Fisher, Illinois; his stepmother, Anne Manning English of Fisher; his stepfather, Rolly Shaffer of Wyandotte, Michigan; and two grandchildren.
  Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga with burial in Greenview Cemetery at Fairmount, Illinois. -s-
